Client reviews

From the people who brought their watches in

AH

Ahmad Halimi

George Town, Penang

Brought in my grandfather's Seiko 5 for a full overhaul. The team photographed each stage and sent updates at the right moments — I didn't feel like the watch had disappeared. It came back keeping better time than I'd seen in years. The printed record they gave me was a thoughtful touch; I've kept it with the watch.

Had them source and fit a dark brown leather strap for an old Tissot. The conversation beforehand was helpful — they asked about lug width and how I typically wear the watch before suggesting anything. The strap arrived within a week and the fitting took around half an hour. One note: parking on Lebuh Light on a Saturday can be tricky.

Nurul Zahirah

Butterworth, Seberang Prai

Used the movement inspection service before deciding whether to go ahead with an overhaul. The written note was clear and honest — they said the movement had some wear but wasn't at the point where a full overhaul was pressing. That kind of direct advice is what kept me coming back when the time eventually did come.

Ipoh, Perak

Worth the trip from Ipoh. I brought a Tudor that hadn't been serviced in over a decade. The overhaul took about six weeks — each milestone was explained clearly and I approved each step before it continued. Other places felt opaque about what they were doing. Wristform was different in that regard.

Penang Hill area

Had three rubber straps sourced and fitted across a couple of visits. The team keeps a note of your preferences so the second conversation was quicker. I'd suggest calling ahead if you're coming specifically for a fitting on a weekday afternoon.

Faridah Ibrahim

Balik Pulau, Penang

I wanted to understand the condition of my late father's watch before deciding what to do with it. The inspection report was thorough and in plain language — not just numbers. The recommendation was considered, not pushy. I appreciated the honesty about what the movement actually needed rather than upselling straight to a full service.

Case studies

A closer look at three client journeys

Case Study 01 · Complete Overhaul

A 1970s Omega passed down through a family

The situation

A 1970s Omega Constellation had not been serviced since the 1990s. The movement was running erratically and occasionally stopped mid-day. The owner, who had inherited the watch, wanted to return it to reliable daily wear.

The work done

Full bench overhaul: strip-down, ultrasonic cleaning, worn keyless works replaced, mainspring replaced, re-oiling, regulation. Case polished by owner's choice. Photographs taken at each stage. Total time: seven weeks.

The outcome

Movement running within ±8 seconds per day across six positions. Owner has worn the watch daily for four months since collection. Printed record retained with the piece.

"It runs better now than it did when my father first gave it to me. The process was slow in the right way — careful, not rushed."

— Client, George Town

Case Study 02 · Inspection Before Purchase

A second-hand purchase decision made on solid ground

The situation

A buyer was considering a second-hand Longines sold privately. No service records existed and the asking price was significant. Before committing, the buyer wanted an independent view of the movement's condition.

The work done

Movement inspection: case opened, visual examination under loupes, timing machine readings across five positions. Written observation note produced covering condition, wear level, and estimated time to next service. Completed same day.

The outcome

Movement found to be in good condition with no immediate service required. Buyer proceeded with the purchase, using the note in the negotiation. Inspection cost: RM 690.

"Having that written note gave me confidence to proceed. The seller didn't argue when I showed the findings — it made the negotiation straightforward."

— Client, Kuala Lumpur (purchased in Penang)

Case Study 03 · Strap Sourcing

Finding the right strap for a dress watch on a slim wrist

The situation

A client had a vintage dress watch with an 18mm lug width and a slim profile. Previous attempts to source a strap had resulted in straps that looked too sporty or buckled awkwardly.

The work done

Consultation on strap dimensions, taper, and leather grain. Three options presented with written pricing. Client chose a tapered cordovan strap in dark burgundy. Fitted on the bench with new spring bars.

The outcome

Strap proportion suited the case correctly. Client returned two months later for a second strap for the same watch. Now wears the watch more regularly than before.

"I'd spent too long picking straps from websites where I couldn't judge the proportion. Having someone who understood the watch explain the options made the difference."

— Client, Air Itam, Penang
