2. Acceptance of Terms

By using the website or engaging Wristform for any service, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement.

Agreement to a written service quotation constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept these terms, please do not proceed with a service booking.

3. Service Description

Wristform provides three services for mechanical watches: Strap Sourcing and Fitting (from RM 520), Movement Inspection and Quote (from RM 690), and Complete Bench Overhaul Programme (from RM 4,700). Detailed descriptions are available on our Solutions page and in the written quotation provided to each client.

Services are carried out in person at the workshop premises at 41 Lebuh Light, George Town, Penang. We do not offer a postal service. All watches must be delivered and collected in person or by a representative authorised by the client.

We work with mechanical movements only. Quartz watches, smartwatches, and battery-powered timepieces are outside our service scope. We reserve the right to decline any watch we consider unsuitable for the requested service, and will advise the client accordingly.

4. Client Responsibilities

You are responsible for providing accurate information about the watch and the service you are seeking. Failure to disclose known damage, prior repair work, or other relevant information may affect the outcome of our service.

You confirm that you are the rightful owner of any watch submitted for service, or that you are acting with the full knowledge and authorisation of the owner. Wristform accepts no liability for disputes arising from ownership claims.

You agree to respond to milestone notifications in a timely manner during an overhaul. If we are unable to reach you for more than 30 days, we reserve the right to pause work and store the watch securely until contact is re-established.

You agree not to misuse the website or engage in conduct that is unlawful, harmful, or disruptive.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Wristform website — including text, photographs, layout, and design — is owned by or licensed to Wristform. You may not reproduce, copy, or distribute any website content without our prior written consent.

Photographs taken by Wristform as part of the overhaul documentation service remain the property of Wristform, though a copy is provided to the client as part of the service record. These photographs are not to be published or used commercially without permission.

6. Payment Terms

All prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). Published service prices are starting figures; the exact price for each job is confirmed in a written quotation before work begins. The written quotation supersedes any advertised starting price.

Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept cash and selected bank transfer options. Payment terms for any deposit (if applicable) will be specified in the written quotation.

If unforeseen findings during an overhaul require additional parts or work, we will stop, notify you, and provide a revised written quotation before proceeding. We will not incur additional costs without your agreement.

Watches will not be released until the agreed service fee has been paid in full.

Refunds: The movement inspection fee is non-refundable once the inspection has been carried out and the observation note provided. For overhaul work, fees for completed stages are non-refundable. If you wish to withdraw from an overhaul mid-process, you will be charged for the stages completed to date plus safe storage of the watch pending collection.

7. Service-Specific Terms

Strap Sourcing and Fitting: Strap orders are placed only after client confirmation of the written price. Once an order has been placed with the supplier, it cannot be cancelled. Fitted straps are not returnable unless found to be defective on fitting.

Movement Inspection and Quote: The inspection fee covers opening the case, conducting the inspection, and producing the written observation note and quotation. It does not include any repair work. The note and quote are provided to assist the client in making an informed decision and do not constitute a warranty or statement of fitness for purpose.

Complete Bench Overhaul: Work proceeds in stages as described in the service listing. Photographs and interim reports are provided at each milestone. The client must give written or verbal approval before each new stage begins. Estimated timelines are provided in good faith but may be affected by parts availability or findings during the work. We will advise promptly of any expected delay.

Collection deadline: Watches not collected within 90 days of notification that the service is complete will be subject to a storage fee of RM 10 per day thereafter. After 12 months of non-collection, we reserve the right to treat the watch as abandoned, following reasonable notice attempts.

8. Disclaimers

All services are provided with reasonable care and skill. However, watchmaking involves the handling of fragile mechanical components, some of which may be aged, worn, or sourced from discontinued parts runs. We cannot guarantee that any specific outcome will be achieved, and we are not responsible for pre-existing faults that become apparent during servicing.

The website is provided on an "as available" basis. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.

Information on the website — including service descriptions, pricing, and timelines — is provided for general guidance only and may be updated without notice.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, Wristform's total liability to you in connection with any service shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific service.

We shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental losses, including loss of sentimental value, loss of use, or loss of market value arising from our services.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Force majeure: We are not liable for delays or failures caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, civil unrest, or supply chain disruption.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Wristform, its staff, and agents from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal costs) arising from your breach of these terms, your misrepresentation of ownership, or your misuse of the website.

11. Termination

Either party may withdraw from a service agreement before work has commenced. Once work has begun, Section 6 (payment for completed stages) applies.

We reserve the right to refuse or discontinue service to any client who acts in a way that is abusive, dishonest, or incompatible with the safe operation of the workshop.

Sections 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 12, and 13 survive any termination of a service agreement.

12. Dispute Resolution

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or relating to these terms or a service provided by Wristform shall first be referred to good-faith negotiation between the parties.

If a resolution cannot be reached informally within 30 days, the dispute shall be submitted to the jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia, with Penang as the preferred venue.

Malaysian consumer protection legislation, including the Consumer Protection Act 1999, applies where relevant and is not excluded by these terms.

13. General Provisions

Entire agreement: These terms, together with the written service quotation, form the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior communications.

Severability: If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full effect.

Waiver: Failure to enforce any provision at any time does not constitute a waiver of the right to enforce it later.

Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under these terms without our written consent.

Notices: Formal notices should be sent to [email protected] or by post to the workshop address.

14. Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the website or engagement of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. For active service bookings, we will notify you directly of any material change.
