The Wristform methodology
Every service at Wristform follows the same underlying approach: understand first, then act. For strap work, this means discussing fit and style before placing a sourcing order. For movement work, it means inspecting and writing up a finding before quoting for any repairs.
This isn't done to slow things down — it's done because the right decision early saves time and money later. A watch that gets a new strap without a spring-bar check may have the same issue again in six months. A movement that gets a full overhaul when cleaning would have been sufficient is an unnecessary expense. We try to give the right recommendation, not the most profitable one.
Work is carried out on the bench in-house. Nothing is sent to a third party without the owner's knowledge. Photographs document progress for overhaul work, and all completed work comes with a written record.
Consult
Discuss the watch and what the owner wants to achieve.
Inspect
Open, examine, and record what is found.
Quote
Provide a written price before any work begins.
Work
Carry out the agreed service with photographic records.
Return
Hand back with a written completion record. Owner's questions answered at collection.
Service 01
Strap Sourcing and Fitting
From RM 520 per service
Help with sourcing and fitting new straps in leather, rubber, fabric, or metal bracelets. The team works through fit, comfort, and original-style options with the owner before placing a sourcing request. Strap brands are chosen from established suppliers, and pricing is shared in writing in advance. The fitting itself is done on the bench, with spring-bar inspection included.
This service is appropriate for owners who want a strap that sits and wears correctly, sourced from a known supplier rather than a random online listing. The conversation about options before ordering prevents the common issue of a strap that looks right in photographs but fits poorly on the wrist.
What's included
- Consultation on fit, material, and style
- Managed sourcing from established suppliers
- Written price confirmation before order placement
- Bench fitting with correct tools
- Spring-bar inspection at every fitting
Process steps
- Initial consultation — discuss wrist width, lug width, preferred material, and wearing style.
- Options shared — two or three suitable straps from the supplier network presented with written pricing.
- Order placed — once owner confirms choice and agrees to price.
- Fitting — strap fitted on the bench, spring bars inspected and replaced if needed.
Suitable for
Owners wanting a new strap in a specific material or style, those whose current strap no longer fits well, and watch buyers who want a fresh strap installed before regular wear.
Service 02
Suitable for
Buyers considering a second-hand or heritage piece who want an independent assessment before committing. Also useful for owners who want to understand a watch's condition before deciding on further servicing.
Movement Inspection and Quote
From RM 690 per inspection
A bench inspection of a mechanical watch movement to understand condition before any work begins. The team opens the case under loupes, takes timing-machine readings, and writes up a short observation note. The owner receives a clear quote for any recommended work, with no pressure to proceed. Useful before deciding on a heritage piece's path.
The inspection fee is separate from any subsequent work. If no further work is needed or wanted, the inspection stands as a complete service. The written note is yours to keep — useful if you're comparing estimates or making a purchase decision.
What's included
- Case opening under bench loupes
- Visual assessment of movement condition
- Timing machine readings across positions
- Written observation note provided
- Clear written quote for any recommended work
Process steps
- Watch is received and logged with photographs.
- Case is opened and movement examined visually under loupes.
- Timing machine readings taken in multiple positions.
- Observation note written and quote for recommended work prepared.
- Owner contacted to discuss findings — no obligation to proceed further.
Service 03
Complete Bench Overhaul Programme
From RM 4,700 per overhaul
A complete overhaul for mechanical watches requiring thorough attention, including movement strip-down, ultrasonic cleaning, parts replacement where suitable, regulation, and case work. The bench documents each step with photographs and a final printed record. Work proceeds in stages, with the owner reviewing each milestone before the next begins. Recommended for treasured pieces returning to regular wear.
The overhaul programme is suited to watches that have not been serviced in many years, pieces acquired second-hand without a service history, or watches of personal significance being prepared for continued wear. The staged approach means nothing is done without your agreement.
What's included
- Full movement strip-down
- Ultrasonic cleaning of components
- Parts replacement where required (quoted separately)
- Movement regulation and timing verification
- Case work and cleaning
- Photographic record of each stage
- Final printed completion record
Process steps
- Initial inspection and written quote provided before work begins.
- Movement stripped down and photographed. Owner contacted with findings from strip-down.
- Components cleaned ultrasonically and inspected individually.
- Parts replaced where needed, quoted and approved before proceeding.
- Movement reassembled, oiled, regulated, and tested on timing machine.
- Case cleaned and reassembled. Final record printed and handed to owner.
Suitable for
Watches that haven't been serviced in five or more years, newly acquired second-hand pieces without documented service history, and pieces of personal or family significance being returned to regular wear.
